Tropic of Cancer Music and Arts festival

at the start of every year a flock of musicians led by joe firstmAN AND LUCCA SORIA OF THE CORDOVAS MIGRATE TO A SMALL COSTAL TOWN, LOCATED A HOUR NORTH OF CABO SAN LUCAS IN THE BAJA called todos santos. for a week these musicians take over the town, filling every stage, bar, and cafe in town. an overload of americana fill these rooms with likeminded creatives from across the world.
cordovas have a long standing relationship with the town. hosting the festival for almost a decade and spending many winters in the warm baja sun. many of cordovas songs have been written and recorded at their hideout in todos, with the towns effect showing through in album covers and songs alike.
I came in to contact with the cordovas in summer of 2024 at their first show of the year in Nashville. over the course of 2024 our relationship grew and evolved to seven shows that year. I was honored to have the privilege of being able to document tropic of cancer festival 2025. These are images from my entire eight days in todos santos.
